Career Talk Time…

You already know how to ship features before the deadline. The question is whether you can translate that velocity into board‑level impact—especially when budgets tighten and every release needs a business case.

This week’s feature article unpacks exactly how a purpose‑built Digital MBA can close the gap between sprint metrics and shareholder value in as little as nine months. You’ll get a checklist to evaluate any tech‑MBA, see rapid‑fire case studies of promotions and pay bumps, and preview the practitioner faculty who teach frameworks they deployed last quarter.

Did You Know?

80% of executives rated leadership as a top organisational priority, yet only 41% believed their pipelines were prepared to meet it, signalling a yawning execution gap between technical competence and strategic stewardship.

LinkedIn’s 2025 “Skills on the Rise” report projects that 70% of the skills powering today’s roles will be obsolete or re‑tooled by 2030. When you sum up that report, you begin to understand that technical mastery alone won’t future‑proof a career when stakeholder management, budget design, and go‑to‑market strategy surge to the top of the competency curve alongside AI literacy..

In other words, without business acumen, the ceiling drops fast for technical professionals eyeballing SLRs.

Also today…

In most organizations, high-quality data and advanced models remain firmly locked behind specialist teams, creating bottlenecks that slow decision-making and leave frontline employees flying blind in a market where speed is a matter of survival. In most instances (read: startups), the weight of enabling data to be accessible and understandable to everyone within an organization falls on the back of a CTO.

That's why we created a detailed tutorial on data democratization for you.

CTO Community Pulse: This Week's Highlights

#Ask-the-Community: A community member, an Engineering Manager, invited the community to participate in the 5-minute survey. The goal is to gather insights that make the report as real and useful as possible.

#Membership: In one of our recent Peer-to-Peer sessions, guests answered three pressing questions related to Third Party/Supply Chain Risk & Responsibility:

  1. Where do your critical data and workloads reside, and are you comfortable with the current jurisdictional control?
  2. How transparent and accountable are your third-party vendors in security, incident response, and compliance? Are there aspects you need to adjust?
  3. Do you have contingency or exit strategies identified if a vendor, platform, or nation becomes unstable or hostile?

And on July 15, we welcomed Maria Scuri. It was her first Q&A Session on the subject “Scaling Trust: Engineering AI That Understands Generational Nuance!”

#Jobs-Offered: Dianna Pieper, Fractional CIO/CTO and our frequent session host, shared a job post from another community she's engaged with: a Group CTO role (not fractional) for a London-based company. It is a large and well-known international wellness company. They are gearing up for an IPO in the coming 2-3 years, and are looking to go far in terms of digitalisation and AI.
